Association headquarters recognized as a test center
The headquarters of the Industry Business Network 4.0 e.V. in the Bavarian town of Bad Wörishofen, where the association’s first reference plant is due, has recently been officially listed as the test center of the Industry 4.0 platform. On the map Test centers are shown all over Germany as research and development institutions, in which Industry 4.0 applications are tested.
Thus, the association headquarters of the Industry Business Network 4.0, which houses a showroom with two cutting, filtering, compressed air, environmental and gas technology, is one of currently 65 official test centers throughout Germany. In the future, there will be live demonstrations of the added value that networked production can generate, especially for small and medium-sized companies. In Bad Wörishofen, the networking of complex production facilities is being tested and developed under realistic conditions – based on an industry standard called IF4.0 initiated by the association, which makes the foundations of the Industry 4.0 platform manageable for practical use.

Background: The Platform Industry 4.0
The Plattform Industry 4.0 was founded in 2013 as a joint project of the German business associations BITKOM, VDMA and ZVEI for the further development and implementation of the future project Industry 4.0 of the high-tech strategy of the Federal Government. In 2015, the platform was expanded to include stakeholders from companies, associations, trade unions, science and politics. The focus of the work of the platform is to bundle the expertise in relation to Industry 4.0 and to make it available to German companies, especially SMEs.
